If you get REJECTED at SSB…

The SSB selection procedure is a blend of Extroverts and Introverts. Extroverts are the one who act fast without going into the details of the subject. Daniel Kheneman, the author of New York Times best seller ” THINKING FAST AND SLOW” and the nobel prize winner on economics clearly explains in his book the fallacies of thinking fast and how it effect human thinking and decision making. The first problem with extroverts are that they do not take time to think which is against all logics of leadership qualities.

Now here is the bomb shell, various researchers have proved that intoverts are more intelligent and they are the one who made maximum positive inputs in the world. Introverts are the one who sit quiet and take time to respond. Unfortunately the system of SSB is so desgined that the extrovert immediately jump in to the verbal warfare and capture the attention of the assessors and the introverts take their own good time to respond and most of the time they do not get the opportunity to participate in the discussion. Eventually the candidate get screened out or REJECTED at the SSB. There is a loophole with the selection system. What these researchers depict is that those introverts get filtered out are not at all less intelligent and capable that those who get selected. So here is the HOLD to lift you up, if you get REJECTED at any time at the SSB than there is something to feel special about you. You actually not the loser Susan Cain explains in her book ” QUIET” that TODAY INTROVERSION & EXTROVERSION ARE TWO OF THE MOST EXHAUSTIVELY RESEARCHED SUBJECTS IN PERSONALITY PSYCHOLOGY AROUSING THE CURIOSITY OF HUNDREDS OF SCIENTISTS.” She also indicates that there is zero correlation between gift of the gab and good ideas. Some of the greatest inventions which changed the world and the way human life changed came from introverts. Had they were exposed to a screening system as being done at thr SSB presently, surely they would have got rejected.

This talking world gives an impression to an introvert that inherently there is something wrong with them which is not the fact. They initially fails to impress the class teacher, party crowd, opposite sex, friends, colleagues and bosses but eventually introverts builts stable realtionships, emerges as strong leaders and succeed in every domain where they are involved, this doesnt mean that all those selected candidates have to worry something about but bit of self investigation of personal traits may be useful.  However, the extrovert oriented selection system at the SSB does not give fair chance to introverts. 

Why do we punish someone who is soft spoken and gracious. Is it bad leadership quality? Why do we have to be excessively aggressive to impress somebody. Excessive aggressiveness make the person to think fast, the outcome is wrong more often than not. Ignoring the unique power of an introvert is a costly error. Extroverts are ego centric and they upset and become aggressive fast, whereas introverts are calm and soft spoken majority times they are on target to the point. This is an important quality that a military should possess. Troops they commanding certainly would respond better to introvert officers who might treat them better and bring the best of their team. There is a feeling in the military circle that anyone who yap too much is intelligent, capable and worthy of promotions. He gets better grades in the annual reports but has no correlation being a good officer for the organization and the troops he commands. Every military officer will do everything possible to impress their seniors but how many genuinely tried to win the heart of the troops they command? Evert military particularly senior officer will yap out high end theories but execution is a different story.

Various researchers have clearly proved that INTROVERTS are more intelligent and well composed producing better results in the world.

Now here we know that what extroverts and introverts mean and what’s their mechanism. Having a blend of both is important because neither being completely EXTROVERT will help nor being complete INTROVERT will mould any personality. Combination of both will only make one’s personality effective and complete enhancing the outlook and perspective towards the situations and surroundings.

TAKE A BREAK IF YOU ARE REJECTED AND PONDER THE PATH YOU WALKING ON. TAKE A SELF INTROSPECTION AND START MOULDING THE REAL YOU. ITS NEVER TOO LATE TO FIND ONE SELF.
